Take Action to Support Immigrant Rights!

This week the Senate is debating immigration reform!

We need legislation that will result in a just and dignified resolution to
the cases of the more than 11 million undocumented workers in the United
States. All parties agree that our current immigration system is broken. The
question is, what do we do to fix it?

Some suggest that punitive legislation which criminalizes immigrants and
their advocates is the solution.

But people of conscience know that the only true solution is one that
recognizes the economic realities of the current immigration situation and
acknowledges the dignity and hard work of immigrant workers.

Tell them that you support immigration reform that:

* Reunifies immigrant families
* Stops mandatory deportations and indefinite detentions
* Supports the rights of all workers
* Enables undocumented immigrants to legalize their status

Esta semana el Senado discutirá la reforma migratoria

Necesitamos legislación que resulte en una justa y digna resolución a la situación de los más de 11 millones de trabajadores indocumentados en los Estados Unidos. Todas las partes están de acuerdo en que el sistema de inmigración actual no sirve. La pregunta es, ¿cómo lo arreglamos?

Algunos sugieren que la solución está en legislación punitiva que criminalice a los inmigrantes y a quienes los defienden.

Pero gente con conciencia sabe que la única solución real es una que acepte la realidad económica de la situación migratoria actual y reconozca la dignidad y el trabajo duro de los trabajadores inmigrantes.

Digamos SÍ a una ley que:

* APOYE LOS DERECHOS DE TODOS LOS TRABAJADORES
* ASEGURE EL CAMINO HACIA LA CIUDADANÍA

A Peaceful Rally is scheduled for Monday evening at the Federal steps (in Wilmington) as part of a National call to organize and bring attention to the need for reform in the Immigration Laws. Something must be done; the laws that now exist are not working and America can not continue on this path. Measures must be taken now to bring an end to undocumented immigration without forcing the removal of each of the approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants that are currently living in the US. We will have Special Speakers, Individual Testimonies and Latin Music. Please come out and be a part of this effort to bring about positive change.
