Event: April 13, Durham, NC
Pilgrimage for Justice and Peace
Will be in Durham on
Thursday, April 13, 2006
The focus in Durham is economic justice and immigration. We want money for education, health care, and affordable housing, not for war! Over 300 Katrina victims have relocated to Durham, and in the last 10 years the Latino population in North Carolina has grown by 400 percent because of unfair economic policies here and abroad. We want to show our support for our new neighbors and send the message that economic oppression is unacceptable.
2:00 pm Meeting place to be determined -- check back for updates.
5:30 Program at First Presbyterian Church.
7:00 Transportation will be provided to St. Joseph’s Church for a special Maundy Thursday service.
Program at First Presbyterian will include:

About the Pilgrimage for Justice and Peace
Economic Justice • Fair Trade not Free Trade • Immigration Reform
A journey of hope and life through North Carolina during Holy Week 2006 calling for justice for workers here in North Carolina and in Latin America
• The Pilgrimage, now in its 20th year, is a journey of hope and life through North Carolina during Holy Week 2006 to demand no more deaths: on the border, in our factories and in our fields. People of faith and goodwill: let’s come together to show our solidarity in pursuit of economic justice, fair trade, and immigration reform.
