RALLY AND CONCERT TO SUPPORT COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM

Where: Hugh MacRae Park in Wilmington

The Senate is still debating legislation in Congress and we must all come together to bring awareness to the need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Take Action to Support Immigrant Rights!

We are asking businesses, churches, and organizations to join us for this nationally coordinated peaceful demonstration. There will be information about immigration law, voter registration, and various performances from area churches including bands, choirs, and soloists. We will also be having a candlelight vigil so please be sure to bring a candle to light in support of positive action. Although there is a call for a work stoppage on that day, at the local level we are not advocating that course of action. This is a family event, so please come and bring your whole family. We need legislation that will result in a just and dignified resolution to the cases of the more than 11 million undocumented workers in the United States. All parties agree that our current immigration system is broken. The question is, what do we do to fix it?

Some suggest that punitive legislation which criminalizes immigrants and their advocates is the solution. But people of conscience know that the only true solution is one that recognizes the economic realities of the current immigration situation and acknowledges the dignity and hard work of immigrant workers.

• Reunifies immigrant families
• Supports the rights of all workers
• Enables undocumented immigrants to legalize their
status and gain a path to citizenship
• Stops mandatory deportations and indefinite
detentions

Necesitamos legislación que resulte en una justa y digna solución a la situación de los más de 11 millones de trabajadores indocumentados en los Estados Unidos.
